Let’s plan your dream Ceremony
What Happens Next
Once you have made contact with me and we have finalised that I am the Celebrant of Choice we will organise our first meeting. At this meeting we will complete the Notice of Intention to Marry (NOIM) for this I will need to site some ID, a Passport is ideal , or we can use a Drivers Licence and Original Birth Certificate. If there has been a previous marriage I will need to sight evidence of the finalisation of that marriage (such as a divorce certificate or a death certificate). We will also chat about your ideal ceremony, your expectations and of course about yourselves and your love story. From this first meeting I will then move forward working on your ceremony script , sending you drafts, for your opinion and making any necessary adjustments.
Depending on your Ceremony Choice I recommend a Rehearsal, we want everything to run smoothly on the day, and a rehearsal will help iron out any unforeseen issues.
Just prior to the ceremony there is also another document to be filled out known as the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage (DONLI), this needs to be signed by both parties and declares that you are both of legal age to get married (or have the appropriate document to get married if your are 16 or 17) ,neither of you are already married, you are both freely consenting to the marriage, you both understand what marriage means and you have submitted your NOIM within the required timeframe. This form can be completed at the rehearsal or even on the day of the ceremony if necessary .
On your Wedding Day I will be at the venue early to set up my signing table and equipment as required, test the PA if being used , and make sure everything is in place for the ceremony. After pronouncing you married there will be 3 Certificates for you and your two witnesses to sign. Two Official Certificates of Marriage and the Form 15 (the presentation certificate). Your witnesses must be of 18 years of age and must understand English. One of the Official Certificates will be held in my files and the other one I will send to the relevant department of Birth Deaths and Marriages along with the NOIM and DONLI, within 14 days of the ceremony. The Form 15 Certificate is yours to treasure for the rest of your Married life, and I will place it in an envelope and entrust it to a responsible person of your choice along with a copy of your ceremony.
